Hi, I’m Ting-Yu.
Ting-Yu’s journey began in physics, where she learned to understand the world through energy, structure, and motion. Dance later gave those ideas a human form - and became the foundation of her work as an educator and business owner.
After becoming a mother of twins, movement played an essential role in her postpartum recovery. It helped her rebuild strength, support her mental well-being, and reconnect with a body that had changed. That experience made her recognize how difficult it can be for children, beginners, and mothers to find movement programs that feel both professional and genuinely welcoming.
She founded TINGMOTION to build what she wished more people could find: thoughtful dance education, accessible wellness practices, and a warm community where every person feels seen.
Drawing from Chinese traditional dance, ballet, modern and contemporary dance, and wellness-based movement, Ting-Yu creates programs for children discovering movement, adults returning to their bodies, and dancers ready to grow - with care, confidence, and joy.
Adult Teaching Philosophy
Adult movement should begin with the body you have today - not with pressure to be more flexible, slimmer, or more experienced. My goal is to create a welcoming space where adults can reconnect with their bodies, develop strength and mobility, explore personal expression, and build a movement practice that feels meaningful and sustainable.
Children’s Teaching Philosophy
Children naturally move with curiosity, imagination, and joy. I believe this instinct should be respected and developed - not replaced by rigid technique. Classes encourage creative exploration while gradually introducing professional foundations that support coordination, musicality, healthy alignment, body awareness, and confident self-expression.
My Approach
Classes are thoughtfully designed for each age and stage of development. Ballet foundations provide structure, while creative movement and experiences from different dance forms help movers from all age groups develop coordination, musicality, body awareness, and expressive range. Through age-appropriate training, students learn healthy alignment and efficient movement patterns while building a strong, capable, and individual dancing body.
